This is one of the reasons I don't like running boards or side steps today. Even a relatively minor hit to the side and it tears hell out of the inside of the rocker panels you've got. .

I had a welder friend look at it, the metal is so thin he is not sure it will hold a new mount area but we are going to try it. The current mounting system has the each step attached with only two bolts close to the top of the arms so the tendency is to pull or rotate the bolts out and up (the sheet metal bulged out below the bolts). You will have to drill out the remaining rivnuts and then pound the metal around the ripped holes flat. You can call AMP Research to order them. They need to be welded in, no cutting is required as the steps are only pushed in 3/16" when bolted up with our repair plates (not a noticeable difference).
