I'm currently creating a part that's supposed to look like this: I've created this part before when I was still a sheet metal noob using 2D sketches, faces, and lots of dimensions. However, since I've been learning something new and wanted to flex my Inventor skills, I thought I'd try out a command I haven't used that much before: the Corner Seam. Hey, So I started to use Inventor this week and I would like to apply it to my work aswell. I have a question why i cant make a flange in place i just extruded? My goal is to make metal sheet ( ACP ) like a element i could hang on some bolts. I done oine edge of sheet with flanges and done all cut outs and holes in places i need. but now I really struggling to move on.

Inventor will not flat pattern ‘pressed’ shapes—for example, a car door. If you are new to modeling sheet metal components with Autodesk Inventor, click here for sheet metal modeling 101 Video. Inventor has a dedicated modeling environment for creating sheet metal parts, and Inventor will also develop flat patterns for imported components from other CAD systems. 1. Connecting Multiple Sheet Metal Bodies (Bend Command) Often, sheet metal is brought into the picture after a multi-body assembly is created. Now, you as a designer are in charge of using Sheet Metal to connect these bodies together. First, you could start by performing a combination of projecting bodies and creating new sketches in your design. Hi GuysAlthough I have worked with inventor for a very long time I have never used sheet metal so I really need some help here.I attached my files so you can see how I went about achieving my desired design.I took a normal IPT which was adaptive in another assembly and I got it to be the shape I want.As it is a part for sheet metal work and I now need a flat pattern I .

Hoe kan ik de hoeken aanpassen in een sheet metal model? Will this work? I just made corner seams with a width of .001" then added the bend. I hade to delete the faces on the edge and have them heal on the 2 parts that are parallel. Also make sure all the sheet metal thickness is the same from one file to the next or things won't work right. Hope this is what you want. The flange length I used in my Sheet Metal, Flange, Corner, Round Relief Hole is 0.001, just above the bend tangent line. So when I did applied a Modify, Corner Round of 0.125, it extended into the "bend zone" and nullified the Relief Hole when in a Flat Pattern view. 1. Can you bend a channel in Sheet Metal like you can a plate of uniform thickness? 2. If you can, can you bend it through a hole to give the hole its new shape? Holes are produced using the "Hole" function which includes data from the Hole Table. A circle is just an extrusion of a closed shape using the Extrude -cut function. Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical I am not sure if the term knockout is the right one. I am trying to create a cutout as in the attached part (later to be used as a punch). Basically a cutout that is then folded as shown. Problem is that when I cut the part I have to create a new solid body otherwise it wil immediately join with the plate again. When folding it does not stay connected properly(see arrow). I need a little help. I am trying to produce a sink bowl that is 6”tall inside x 10” wide inside x 10” wide inside in 20 ga stainless steel sheet. I need to produce a corner flat pattern that actually represents a 1” radius that can be welded. Now this was drawn as a non- sheet metal part, then extruded and then shelled to produce the look of the part I need. I cut a slit in . Hi drew65uk, In the Contour Roll dialog box, change the Unroll Method to Developed Length and then enter the Length you want to end up with.. Then use the Unfold tool (not the Create Flat Pattern tool) to temporarily unfold the part. Then sketch one of your slots, and use the Cut tool to create it. Then use the Rectangular Pattern tool to place the rest of the slots. The third corner I manually cut the 45 degree miter corners, I believe there is overlapping material, so I might have need to cut away more material/ leave a miter gap for welding. I hope that makes sense and you guys understand what I'm trying to achieve, any help would be appreciated. I'm open to alternative ideas that I may not be aware of!!!
